Turbo Friday Cruise 2026 – Twisty Heaven Returns

It’s that time of year again… the AFL Grand Final public holiday = Turbo Friday, and you already know what that means

We’re heading back to one of the best driving roads in Victoria — the legendary 66km stretch from Eildon to Jamieson, aka Twisty Heaven. Flowing corners, mountain views, and plenty of reasons to fall in love with your car all over again.

The Plan

Arrive: 8:00am (see Rohan to check your name off the attendance list)
Driver Briefing: 8:30am
Roll Out: 8:45–9:00am sharp

The Drive
Healesville → Eildon → Jamieson → Kevington
Including the iconic Twisty Heaven section and the Skyline Rd rally-style run

Lunch Stop: Jamieson Brewery (TBC — but you know the vibe)

This is a Full / Family members cruise, so keep it clean, keep it safe, and enjoy the drive with the crew.

Come along for a relaxed social evening with the WRX Club at YOMG Berwick!

The Committee welcomes all WRX Club members, guests and fellow Subaru enthusiasts to join us for a casual dinner and catch-up.

What You Need to Enter

A valid Motorsport Australia Speed Licence (or higher). If you do not have one, you must first join a Motorsport Australia affiliated car club: Join Us. Apply here: Motorsport Australia Registration.
A compliant vehicle per Motorsport Australia and our Supplementary Regulations.
A suitable helmet compliant with Schedule D (minimum AS 1698).
Suitable apparel (ankle to wrist coverage in cotton and closed toe shoes).

Pre-event Drivers Briefing

We will conduct an online pre-event drivers briefing.

This is not mandatory, but highly recommended especially if you are new to track days, new to the venue or new to WRX Club days. Great chance for Q&A.

Join Drivers Briefing (Microsoft Teams)

On arrival

Arrive before 7:00am.
Sign on with license and membership proof.
Prepare vehicle for scrutineering.
Attend Drivers Briefing (8:15am).

During the day

Listen for PA announcements.
Observe pit lane speed limit (10kph).
Follow official instructions.
75dB noise limit at 30m applies.

October 22nd Annual General Meeting - Village Green Hotel (22 Oct 2026)

The President and Committee invite all WRX Club members, guests, and visitors to this year’s Annual General Meeting.

Your participation at the AGM is essential for the club’s future.

We strongly encourage members to attend in person at the Village Green Hotel, as your presence helps us reach the required quorum of 10% of eligible members and strengthens our club community.

If you can't join us in person because of distance or work commitments, you can still participate online via Microsoft Teams. Every attendee counts, and your involvement helps secure the club’s continued success.

Members attending in person will have the chance to win one of 3 × $100 gift vouchers in our Lucky Door Prize draw!

If you can’t attend the AGM, you can still have your say by appointing another member to vote for you. Download the proxy form, fill it out, and email it to secretary@wrx.com.au before the event.

If you would like to nominate yourself or another member to join the Committee and help shape the next 12 months of the club, please submit a Nomination Form before or on the night of the AGM.

N.B. Registering for the AGM is not mandatory, but we appreciate it so we can gauge whether a quorum of eligible voting members will be present.

Registration only requires your name and email address, and you can remain anonymous on the event attendee list by unticking the appropriate box when registering.

The AGM is more than a formality. It's a chance to hear what’s been happening behind the scenes, review the year that's been, and help shape where the Club goes next.

During the AGM, we will receive and consider the Club's Annual Report and Financial Statements, conduct the required business and elect the 2026–2027 Committee.

All Committee positions are declared vacant at the AGM and nominations are welcomed from eligible members.

You don't need to be a motorsport expert, event organiser, or long-time member. If you've got ideas, enthusiasm, and want to help shape the Club's future, we'd love to hear from you.

The 2026 Alpine Epic (4 days!) (23 Oct 2026)

Have you ever wanted to venture to ALL the good far away mountains with your Subaru?

Yes we are running this again! It will be this year a 4 day epic! So please book annual leave and accommodation in Bright on the Friday night, Jindabyne on the Saturday night and Bright again on the Sunday night.

Arrive: 8:00am TBA

Depart 8:30am

Cruise to Mt Buller, Whitfield, Mt Buffalo, The Tawonga Gap, Bogong High Plains, Falls Creek, The Glen Valley, Mitta Mitta via the Omeo Highway, Mt Kosciuszko, Thredbo, Mt Hotham, Dinner Plain and the great Alpine Highway in this 4 day Epic.

Day 1

Suggested Accommodation is anywhere you can find as many places are a minimum 2 night stay. There seems to be availability in Bright Accommodation Park and Bright Motor Inn. IF you are staying with others it might be economical to book a room
(that has a min 2 night stay) for 3 nights even though the middle night you will be in Jindabyne.

Day 2

Suggested Accommodation is: Jindy Inn 18 Clyde Street, 2627 Jindabyne, Australia.

Day 3

Suggested Accommodation is the same as the first night.

Day 4

Suggested Fuel Stops: In cruise Google Maps links. Mainly BP Ultimate some Shell 98.

Be aware of fuel surge on corners, its best to have a fair bit of fuel in your tank.

Start full of 98 / E85, E 85 carry Jerries depending on your fuel economy/tank size/right foot.

98 at BP: Eltham, Yea, Mansfield, Bright, Albury, Jindabyne, Bairnsdale

Other 98: Tallangatta, Beechworth

E85: Not much! Day1, United Eltham 1050 Main Road, Eltham, Day 2, United Wondonga West 363 McKoy Street, West Wodonga VIC, Australia. Day 4, United Taralgon South, 10 Shakespeare St Traralgon VIC 3844.

We invite you to join us for the WRX Club's November General Meeting and Social Dinner at 3030 Waterfront in Werribee South.

The venue is right on the waterfront at Wyndham Harbour. It's a great spot to enjoy dinner, catch up with other members, hear the latest club news, and talk about everything WRX.

If you have documents for new registration or renewal under the Club Permit Scheme, please bring them along if they need to be checked or signed by the club.

Members, visitors, and anyone interested in joining are all welcome.

Please let us know if you plan to attend so we can confirm numbers with the venue and make sure there are enough seats for everyone.

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS:

Roadworthy condition
No fluid leaks
Road or semi-slick tyres (no full slicks)

Rexmas is a untimed passenger ride day for all entrants at a maximum of 80% of the driver and cars potential. Please carefully review the supp regs below if you are intending on having a passenger in your car.

Pre-event Briefing:

We will be running a highly recommended pre-event drivers briefing on Thursday the 3rd December at 7pm via Teams. We strongly recommend this for anybody who has either never been to one of our events before, new to the venue or is new to track days in general. It will also provide the opportunity for Q&A

What do you need to enter:

A valid Motorsport Australia Speed or higher license
But what if you don't have one?
You first need to be a member of a Motorsport Australia affiliated car club like ours. You can join here Join Us. You don't need a Subaru to enter by the way
You can apply for a license here Motorsport Australia Registration
A vehicle to drive that meets Motorsport Australia guidelines, and our supp regs (links below, see your vehicle section)
A suitable helmet. Minimum is a helmet that meets AS 1698, but a motorsport specific helmet is strong recommended. See link for further details Motorsport Australia Schedule D
Suitable apparel. Minimum is covered from ankle to wrist in cotton and closed toe shoes. Our long sleeve motorsport shirts are perfect for this. WRX Shop See link for further details Motorsport Australia Schedule D

Your vehicle:

We accept all makes and models. While we love our Subaru's, we often have a significant number of non-Subaru's at our track days.
You're vehicle must comply with the Motorsport Australia technical regulations as well as our supp regs
You MUST read and understand our Supplementary Regulations (link below in before event section). Our supp regs reference the specific part of the Motorsport Australia Technical Manual that you need to pay most attention to. However we strongly recommend you familiarize yourself with the manual.
It can get quite technical, and can be confusing. But don't worry, get in contact with us and we are happy to assist in answering or explaining anything

What you must do before the event:

You MUST read our Supplementary Regulations
Check your vehicle and apparel to ensure it meets the requirements, nothing is leaking or broken and everything works.
Make sure you can get to your Motorsport Australia license via their App or have the physical license
Make sure you have something to show you are a current member of a car club. Eg membership card, or can show it on your phone

What you must do when you arrive at the event:

Get there as early as possible, strongly recommend getting to the gate before 7am
Once you arrive, get to drivers sign on. Its at the end of the center row of garages. Bring along your Motorsport Australia License and car club membership details
Check over your car again, especially checking for loose items
Remove or disable any timing devices, eg race logic
Remove any phones and mounts (As timing is not allowed, the only valid reason at our other events for a phone is to aid in timing)
Unlock the car, put you're helmet on your seat, open your bonnet and boot. This way our scrutineers can come and inspect the car even if you're busy
Our scrutineers have your safety, the safety of other drivers and our officials as their primary focus. So if they offer advice or feedback please listen and be respectful. If you disagree or don't understand, politely ask them to explain further. They are happy to do so, and can even point you towards the appropriate documentation.
Be at drivers briefing several minutes before it starts.
Ensure all passengers have signed the passenger ride form

During the day:

Listen out for PA announcements
Stay out of pit lane. There is a line a couple of meters out from the garages. Stay behind this at all times. And do not cross pit lane to get to the track fence
Our scrutineers will be wandering around from 7am throughout most the day randomly selecting vehicles to audit.

Food & Drink:

Booma's BBQ will be providing food again this year
All entries will include Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast is a Bacon and Egg Roll
Lunch is pulled pork and beef brisket with a roll and salad sides
Additional serves of either breakfast or lunch can be purchased for fiends or family attending.
Food must be pre-ordered before the event
Coffee van will also be available

Garages:

A limited number of garages are available, they free but are booked first in best dressed in the entry form. Please be aware we can't guarantee by selecting yes on the entry form you will get a garage. They will be allocated to the first 40 people who register and select yes

You can get two vehicles in a garage though.

Garage lists will be sent out via email prior to the event

Come & Try:

Any driver that enters as Come & Try or is participating at their first track day will be placed in the Come & Try group.
No passengers are allowed with a Come & Try driver
All Come & Try sessions will be untimed
Instructors approved by the club at drivers sign in will be permitted
Come & Try license fee is inc in entry
We will provide a specific Come & Try drivers briefing after the main drivers briefing, you need to attend both briefings.

Refunds\Cancellations:

Refunds can be given up until 5pm the day entries close. We will offer a credit towards a future track day, or can offer a refund minus the processing fee.
No refunds will be given if you fail to comply with the supplementary regulations or the Motorsport Australia regulations
