Victoria's Club Permit scheme

Victoria’s Club Permit scheme allows members of vehicle clubs that are recognised by VicRoads to make limited non-commercial use of eligible 25yr old vehicles on the road network. Please see Vicroads Club Permit site for details on how it works. 

The Impreza WRX Club Inc is registered with VicRoads for the Club Permit Scheme. 

Vehicle Eligibility

The following vehicle categories will be eligible under our Club Permit Scheme with a current Roadworthy Certificate

  • Classic and historic motor vehicles (vehicles build after 31st December 1948) but more than 25 years old
  • Veteran, Vintage and pre-1949 motor vehicles
  • All Trailers (inc. Caravans) eligible for club permit scheme

    All vehicles above MUST have a roadworthy certificate inc trailers and pre-1949 vehicles. 

Before Applying For Permit

Prior to applying for a permit with the club please ensure you completed all of the below:

  1. Check your vehicle meets the eligibility criteria above
  2. Ensure your membership with the club is current. Your membership status must show as Active
    If you aren't yet a member. Please join before proceeding. Our club memberships are usually processed same day
  3. Have a current Roadworthy Certificate for the vehicle, this MUST be attached to the application
    Remember your roadworthy certificate is only valid for 30 days
  4. Filled out and signed the Club Permit Application
  5. Printed out Vehicle eligibility and standards declaration, to be filled in by the clubs technical officer\s. 
  6. Take a photo's of the vehicle. We require photos of the following
      • Front
      • Drivers Side
      • Rear
      • Driving Position (Take a photo of the drivers side with a open drivers door)
      • VIN Number. Build\Compliance plate or VIN in the windshield. 

Members are responsible for ensuring the details in the paperwork including the roadworthy certificate are accurate

Getting The Permit Signed

Permits can be signed at any club event or meeting. 

Each month the club hosts a social night usually on the third Thursday of the month , as well as track days, cruises and other events. Our events can be viewed in the club event calender

In addition to the above events, club committee meets on the first Monday night of each month. The location does move around so contact us below to get details.

Once It's Signed

Take your paperwork and the vehicle to a Vicroads Customer Service Centre

Renewals

Vicroads will post out a renewal each year

Renewals can be signed in person or via email

  1. Sign your renewal
  2. Decide if you want to attend an event or email a PDF of the renewal to  clubpermits@wrx.com.au 
  3. Your renewal will be signed and returned via email

Transferring From Another Club

You can transfer a club permit from another club at any time. 

  1. Check your vehicle meets the eligibility criteria above
  2. Ensure your membership with the club is current. Your membership status must show as Active
    If you aren't yet a member. Please join before proceeding. Our club memberships are usually processed same day
  3. Filled out and signed the Vehicle eligibility and standards declaration
  4. Take a photo's photos of the vehicle. We require photos of the following
    - Front
    - Drivers Side
    - Rear
    - Driving Position (Take a photo of the drivers side with a open drivers door)
    - VIN Number. Build\Compliance plate or VIN in the windshield.
  5. Choose as event as per the Getting Paperwork Signed process above
  6. Email clubpermits@wrx.com.au with the photos attached to the email and request your vehicle to be transferred to our club permit system and advise of the event you will attend
  7. We will provide a club endorsement form and sign the vehicle declaration
  8. Take your paperwork and the vehicle to a Vicroads Customer Service Centre


Permit Validity

If you allow your IMPREZA WRX CLUB membership to lapse, you will then be driving an unregistered vehicle.

IMPREZA WRX CLUB is required to notify VicRoads of any one of our members with a Club Permit vehicle membership is no longer Active

Once we notify Vicroads that your membership has lapsed, your permit will be voided.
